With staff safety in mind, opportunity and training to address mental health awareness has been organised for all University staff.
The course dates are spread over a period of time to allow for flexible planning and to ensure minimal service delivery impact whilst training is ongoing.
The training syllabus will reflect the growing acceptance in most professions that psychological and mental health first aid assistance should be available to everyone and that all staff have a role to play.
The sessions will provide staff with the knowledgebase to offer initial support and guidance with confidence, if or when necessary.
Training will be conducted over a seven-hour period which includes lunch and comfort breaks.
Times and dates are as follows:
27, 28, 29 March: Sighthill Campus, room 3.D.03, 9:30am-4:00pm
30, 31 March: Craiglockhart Campus, River Suite, 9:30am-4:00pm
Each class will have a maximum of 20 attendees.
To register your interest for attending on any of the dates indicated and also to meet catering / administration requirements please contact Security Supervisor,
Ian Hamilton as soon as possible.
