Title
Over 40 attend inaugural HRM alumni event

Description

The HRM academic staff hosted the University’s first HRM alumni event on Thursday 25 May, with two senior level Edinburgh Napier HRM alumni. Sarah Wormwell, Head of People Technology & Change Standard Life and Dr Stephen Moir, Chief people Officer NHS England shared their career journeys with an audience before discussing contemporary developments in the HRM profession and future HR professionals competency requirements.

The conference was an opportunity for University staff to thank HRM alumni for their ongoing support with student and academic activities which are so beneficial to the professional development and employability of HRM students. It is hoped it will lead to forging new and stronger links with HRM alumni in areas such as guest speakers, student mentors, representation on industry/education liaison committees and research/consultancy/CPD involvement. The meeting also provided alumni with a valuable opportunity to network with other HRM professionals.

Event lead, Norma D’Annunzio-Green said: “The HRM alumni event was an opportunity for us to thank our HRM alumni for the support they have given to our students in areas such as guest speakers, placements and mentoring and to widen our network of alumni, enabling us to build upon and grow these valuable and inspirational alumni relationships.”
