Description
|
The Scottish Government has launched a new grants scheme for public science engagement events and activities.
'Talking Science' is aimed at reaching members of the public in remote and rural areas, disadvantaged urban areas, and within sectors currently 'hard to reach' or under-served by science engagement activities.
This could include young adults, older people, people with disabilities, or people from black and minority ethnic communities.
Talking Science has distinct aims, objectives and criteria. In particular, the programme is aimed at supporting face-to-face, active engagement between scientists/communicators and the general public, rather than school groups.
If you are thinking of applying please check your project meets the criteria and note that the deadline is 17 July 2012. If you have any queries on the scheme please send them by email to ScienceEngagement@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
