Attention all staff – New Microsoft Security/Critical Updates to be deployed
There are new security/critical updates that need to be applied to all Windows 7 workstations.
The system has been staggered so that staff will download the updates over a period of time starting from 09:00 on Monday 25th August 2014. After the updates have been downloaded, they will be installed at the following 03:00hrs, or if the PC was switched off or logged in at 03:00hrs, installation will occur the next time the PC is switched on.
When the installation of the updates has completed, you will be prompted to restart your PC. Please allow your PC to restart. If you leave your PC switched on and logged in then your PC will not restart automatically, and you should restart your PC at the earliest opportunity.
Please do not attempt to cancel the installation of these critical security updates. These updates are essential to the continued security of the Edinburgh Napier network. Thank you for your assistance.
