Catch up Immigration and Finance Sessions

Description

The University rolled out and began to use a new online matriculation process in August this year for the new intake of students to September 2014.

The online processes for matriculation, enrolment for the password manager system and the online induction for Information Services have been operational since 19 August 2014. As of today, almost 90 per cent  of new students have completed the online matriculation process.

What if a student has yet to complete the online matriculation process?

New students who have not undertaken the online matriculation task should be asked to undertake the task by following the instructions contained within emails sent to their personal email account. Students should check their email (including junk folders) for these emails.

If they have received such emails but no longer have access to them (e.g. they have deleted them) or received some emails but not the one which allowed them to set up their IT password then students should visit one of our Information Services Help Desks or contact the IT Support Desk (telephone 0131 455 3000 or email itsupport@napier.ac.uk) for assistance with setting their password.
If the student has not had any welcome/matriculation emails from the University in advance of arriving at the University there may be an issue with the email address we hold for the student or their current student status. Please ask them to call our Student Administration team on 0131 455 2535 or email matriculation@napier.ac.uk

Do students need to attend a face to face check?

A small number of students upon completion of the online matriculation task are required to attend face to face checks during the first three weeks of the trimester to confirm payment of their fees and/or to have their passport checked for UK Border Agency purposes. The students are alerted to the need to attend these checks via email and a notification at the end of the online matriculation process. These checks were carried out on all three campuses during Freshers’ Week.

There are a number of catch up sessions that students are able to attend in weeks 2 and 3 of the trimester if they have not managed to complete their face to face checks in Freshers’ Week.

These will take place as follows:

  • Tuesday 16 September - 10am - 1pm - JKCC, Merchiston
  • Thursday 18 September - 1 - 4pm - JKCC, Merchiston
  • Tuesday 23 September - 10am - 1pm - JKCC, Merchiston
  • Friday 26 September - 1 - 4pm - JKCC, Merchiston

Students should report to the main entrance of the JKCC and should bring a copy of any award or sponsorship letter or a credit or debit card. Overseas students must also bring their passports and visa information.

Please encourage any new students who have not yet completed their face to face checks to attend one of these sessions. Please be aware that Friday 26 September 2014 is the final opportunity students to fully matriculate (i.e. complete the online process and attend any face to face check that is necessary) and any student not matriculated by this date will be withdrawn.

ID Cards

Student ID Cards can be collected during Freshers’ week from the student’s home campus. From the 16 September all ID cards will be available from the Student Hub at Merchiston to facilitate their distribution at the catch up sessions referred to above.

Continuing Students

Continuing students must also matriculate online by Friday 26 September. To do so they should login to eStudent Records (the new name for e:Vision).

To access eStudent Records they should go to myNapier/Student Administration/eStudent Records. They should have received an email asking them to matriculate online by accessing their eStudent Records.
