The National Student Survey (NSS) is open to final year undergraduates, beginning on Monday 12 January. Currently our response rate is 71% overall, compared with 73% at the same point in the survey in 2014.
The survey will remain open until the end of April to maximise response rates, but we aim to encourage students to complete this as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on the consistent progress of these results.
The response rates on a school by school basis are detailed in the table below (the final column shows the comparable response rate during the 2014 survey):

This year the University will provide a donation to the Edinburgh Cyrenians every time a student completes the survey to encourage participation. Currently students have raised £7196 by completing the survey.
As a result of the eligibility criteria for the NSS each year we have a small number of students who are eligible to take part but have actually left the institution (an example of where this can happen is when we believe a student will return for their final year but they then decide not to do this).
As an indicator, we provide an additional set of response rates based on the students who are still attending the University based on the student records system (for information purposes only). Please note these figures should only be used as a guide as students who have left the institution will be contacted by personal email, phone and post so they still have numerous opportunities to complete the survey.
