Last week saw further prepartations for the Edinburgh Napier Cambodia volunteer mission as Dr Monika Foster and Imi Dencer-Brown (ASPEN) put students through their paces learning valuable skills to prepare for the trip.
12 out of the 22 students who are embarking on a trip to volunteer and teach english to children in Cambodia enjoyed a crash course full of useful information and activities. The whole day aimed and succeeded at challenging and preparing the group for the volunteer experience.
Group leader, Ryan Strachan, said: "It was a credit to Monika and Imi who
gave up their time to package a really difficult skill to master into one day in order to give us the best head start possible.
"On behalf of the group and the NSA I'd like to say a special thanks to Monika and Imi, it's a great example of University staff going out of their way to support our students."
The Cambodia 2015 project will be kicking off on 9 July when the students will depart for Bangkok before travelling across the border into Cambodia to get started with a number of volunteer projects that local communities need support with.
