A group of Edinburgh Napier PhD students has won an intelligence challenge that was designed by the army.
Thirteen University researchers took on PhD students from the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt in a training event hosted by the 5 Military Intelligence Batallion on Saturday 4 March.
The aim of the event was to give researchers an insight into the leadership and team working skills used in the army, specifically the Intelligence Corps.
Activities included tabletop scenarios; talking through a simulated disaster, and other challenges designed to test problem solving under stress. Also in attendance was the City of Edinburgh Universities Officer Training Corps, who put the teams through a series of challenging outdoor command tasks.
The winning Edinburgh Napier team was Ed Bolger, Amanda Diserholt, Hannah Lithgow, Nikki Peddie and Joe Sutton, all students in the School of Applied Sciences.
