​Professor Lis Neubeck of the School of Health & Social Care has been recognised for her extraordinary service to the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association.

The accolade comes shortly after Lis was appointed as Fellow of The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in Barcelona.

The ESC represents over 90,000 professionals from 56 countries across Europe and has associated members in another 43 countries across the world.

The prestigious appointment is awarded to healthcare professionals who have made a significant contribution to cardiology.

Lis has also been elected Treasurer of the Council of Cardiovascular Nurses and Allied Professions of the ESC, and attended her first meeting as Treasurer in Barcelona.

Prof Neubeck said: “I am delighted to receive the award for extraordinary service to ACRA. To receive this and to also be awarded the ESC fellowship in the same month is a great honour and I am proud to represent Edinburgh Napier University in these international associations.”
