Full Story

Edinburgh Napier’s work in cyber security has been further recognised with four nominations at the Scottish Cyber Awards.

Dr Naghmeh Moradpoor has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Woman in Cyber category, Professor Bill Buchanan OBE is up for Cyber Evangelist of the Year, the University itself is up for Best Cyber Education Programme and University spin-out Symphonic is up for the Best Cyber Breakthrough award.

Zonefox – another Edinburgh Napier spin-out – is also up for three awards including the Leading Light Innovation award.

The awards – which will take place on the 22 of this month in Edinburgh – is the flagship event for Scotland’s cyber community.

Edinburgh Napier dominated the inaugural ceremony last year, with Professor Buchanan OBE being named Cyber Evangelist of the Year and the University’s collaborative project with Police Scotland also taking home an award.

Dr Natalie Coull was named Outstanding Woman in Cyber, Harry McLaren of ECS won Best New Cyber Talent and spin-out Zonefox took home two awards including Champion of Champions on what turned out to be a memorable night for the University’s cyber security team.
