Scottish Workplace Journey Challenge (L).jpg

Sustran’s Scottish Workplace Journey Challenge takes place annually in March and is a great way to show the steps we’re taking as we become more sustainable.

The challenge requires colleagues to log their journeys to and from work, whether that’s by car share, walking, wheeling, cycling or using public transport. If you are working from home, you can still take part by logging all the exercise you are doing to get outdoors and get active this March. When logging your journey, under the third drop down, 'What is the purpose of your journey?' select Daily Exercise, and your extra lunchtime walks, runs or cycles will be added to your totals.

Not only is traveling sustainably good for the environment, it’s good for you. Cycling, scooting, running and walking on your commute and for local trips are brilliant ways of incorporating exercise into your day.

All this helps you get fitter, feel good, and do your bit for your environment.

You can take part as an individual or set up a team within your department if you feel like getting competitive. Plus, there are some great prizes up for grabs too.

In 2020, our Edinburgh Napier community logged 488 journeys and travelled 4,927 miles, saving 679kg CO2! Help us beat that this year by signing up, logging your daily activity and helping Edinburgh Napier climb the leader board!

Sign up today and log your first journey here

Note: Dr Bike will be holding a session at Merchiston campus on Thursday 3 March to offer free bike safety checks, maintenance and repairs. Drop by any time between 10am-12pm for the chance to get your bike looked over.
