Overview

We aim to provide a service to our customers through efficient proactive, knowledgeable, customer focused staff empowered to put the customer first at all times. Finance, Planning & Commercial Services' main office is located on the 6th floor, Block B, within the Sighthill Campus – campus location & directions for visitors. We consist of a number of sections each with their own specific responsibilities, we have included a brief outline of each below and selecting their link will take you to that areas sub-site (should they have one).

Commercial Support

Provide support to aid in the exchange of good ideas, research results and skills between universities, research organisations and in particular business and the wider community, thus enabling innovative new products and services to be developed.

The Accounting calendar as well as finance forms and Guidance relating to Sales Ledger and Travel and Expenses.

Information for Staff

Finance Regulations, Schedule of Delegated Authority, Insurance Certificates and Fraud Policy.

Planning & Intelligence

Provide a high quality professional service contributing towards the achievement of the University’s vision and strategic objectives and to support faculties and professional service departments develop and implement corporate plans.

Procurement

Advise all areas of the University about purchasing the right goods and services in a compliant manner while achieving value for money. Also manages the insurances of the University ensuring risks are mitigated with appropriate insurance cover and advising all staff and students as to insurance cover including travel insurance.

Project Development

Create, support and manage externally funded projects from initiation to completion, with extensive knowledge of European and other external funding we can help to create project bids, secure funding, manage and mainstream a successful project.

Project Finance

Information and guidance in relation to the financial administration of External Contracts within Edinburgh Napier University.

Research Support

Provide a full pre-award service to all staff across the University including - Dissemination of UK and European funding opportunities, assistance with proposal preparation and representing/promoting the University's research interests externally.

Sustainable Futures

Support faculties and professional service departments across the University in identifying and implementing operational and process improvements.

Systems & Assurance

Provide access, support and training for the University's Finance and Procurement system AGRESSO and manage the tuition fee download interface between SITS and AGRESSO. Develop new processes to support proper treatment and recording of all financial transactions.

Information, procedures, and documents relating to Student Tuition fees invoiced via the SITS - AGRESSO interface.
