Teams across the University are getting involved with some exciting activities and initiatives planned. Here’s some of what’s going on:
• Information Services have created a LibGuide that provides more information about the book, links to related references, and a discussion space to share your thoughts. Check out the LibGuide here: http://libguides.napier.ac.uk/BigRead
• Twitter competition – Send us a picture with the booking using #EdNapBigRead for a chance to win a £20 Amazon Voucher
• The Employability & Opportunities team are incorporating The Humans into week one workshops on Making a Successful Start for undergraduates, and Goal Setting for Success for new postgraduate students
• The AUA Book Group have been reading The Humans and will be holding a book group discussion in August
• The School of Engineering & the Built Environment are launching an exciting Maths Challenge on Napier’s bones method of calculation where students will work in teams to find a solution
• The Placement Office are factoring The Big Read into welcome events for Year 1 and direct entry students during Freshers’ week
• Keep an eye on our campus digital screens for some of author Matt Haig’s Advice for a Human
