Edinburgh Napier University’s Vice Principal and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Alistair Sambell, is delighted to announce the appointment of entrepreneur Lynne Cadenhead as Visiting Professor of Governance and Enterprise within the Business School.
An alumni of ENU, Lynne has over 20 years’ experience in enterprise and investment, having mentored and nurtured numerous early stage technology and retail companies throughout the UK. She has worked with a wide portfolio of technology companies, started up her own board game company and served on over 30 boards.
Lynne is also a long-standing member of the Edinburgh Napier University Campaign Advisory Board, Chair of UNICEF Scotland Advisory Board and Chair of Women's Enterprise Scotland, the community investment company which works to unlock the economic potential of women in business. Additionally, Lynne is a serving member of the Business School’s Advisory Board.
Commenting on her appointment, Lynne said “I am truly honoured to have been appointed as a Visiting Professor to Edinburgh Napier University’s Business School. I had an exceptional student experience as a Life Sciences undergraduate at ENU and I am delighted to have the opportunity to give back to this wonderful institution. The role of Visiting Professor will allow me to continue my work and share my expertise in board governance, leadership and enterprise, which will further the development of governance programmes to help public, private and third sector organisations.”
Most recently, Lynne worked with colleagues in the Business School to design and deliver a new Executive Education programme: Leadership in Governance and Board Leadership (LiBG). http://www.ei.napier.ac.uk/c/opportunities/opportunityid/6533. The course provides students with a critical understanding of the nature and importance of governance, ethics, finance, the benefits of a diverse board, the role and contribution of board members and an awareness of practices that can be adopted to achieve more effective governance in an international context.

The new LiBG programme, along with my appointment as Visiting Professor of Governance and Enterprise, demonstrates the value which the Business School places on preparing leaders for the complex task of managing stakeholder relationships across the private, public and voluntary sectors.”
Lynne will deliver her professorial inaugural address in January 2018.
