Scotland has an important opportunity to reduce the burden of stroke on its healthcare system by focusing on Atrial Fibrillation (AF), a major cause, says a new report.
The study - which follows an inquiry into AF supported by Edinburgh Napier expertise - says Scotland must identify people with AF who are undiagnosed and ensure clear and consistent clinical pathways exist to optimise the treatment and management of this condition.
Professor Lis Neubeck, an expert in cardiovascular health at Edinburgh Napier, acted as a clinical advisor to the inquiry.
