Sandra is Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Creative Industries. She firmly believes that teaching and learning and student support should be informed by educational research. Sandra is active in HEREN (Hub for Educational Research at Edinburgh Napier). Her own research interests include developing and promoting inclusive approaches to curriculum design and targeted support for groups of students with specific needs. Associated with this is an interest to exploring how social networking tools can be used to enhance social integration. With colleague Caroline Turnbull, she is an active supporter of Connect, a peer support network for female engineering, computing and technology students in the Faculty.
