Naren enjoys involvement in all aspects of quality and is the School Director of Quality. He has an excellent record of participating in programme validation events both at Edinburgh Napier and other HEIs. He has served as an external examiner at a number of institutions in the UK, Ireland and Malaysia. Naren is an active researcher and has published nearly 90 papers to date. He supervises and examines PhD and MPhil students at institutions around the UK. He is an active participant in the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) where he is involved as a student counsellor; professional review interviewer; fellowship panel member; fellowship interviewer; assessor/moderator/registrar for CEng (Chartered Engineer) applicants and a member of IET Scotland's Science, Education and Management Network.
