Susan Watt

Senior Teaching Fellow

School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Care

Susan is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing. Her areas of specialism are cardiac nursing, resuscitation and clinical skills and simulation teaching. She is module leader for a level 9 module considering the complexities of adult nursing. This module will involve service users and carers and use simulated practice to help undergraduate students relate nursing theory to clinical practice. Susan also teaches on a number of other core and option modules. Susan is a Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Instructor and regularly teaches advanced resuscitation to healthcare professionals from all disciplines.

Susan is an Academic Conduct Officer (ACO) within the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Care and is a member of the Fitness to Practice Committee. Susan sees a key part of her ACO role as one where she helps to educate the students within the School to prevent them from breaching academic regulations. She is also involved in giving students guidance in how to conduct themselves in a professional manner to ensure they are fit to practice as a nurse or midwife.

Susan’s research interests include care of cardiac patients and the health of student nurses and she is currently undertaking a research degree.
