LARS team finalist for Student Support Team of the Year
We are pleased to
announce that the Learning and Research Services team within Information
Services has been shortlisted for the 2017 Herald Higher Education Awards
Student Support Team of the Year.
Team member Laura Ennis was also involved in the “The Big Read” campaign, a
shared reading scheme for new students which has been shortlisted for Campaign
of the Year.
These prestigious awards
aim to recognise outstanding contributions made by universities and colleges
across Scotland. Supported by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA),
JISC, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education Scotland (QAA),
Universities Scotland and others, they aim to build future excellence by
facilitating the sharing of good practice and help to raise the status of
learning and teaching in Scottish higher education.
Malcolm Jones, Head of
Learning and Research Services said “We were surprised but delighted to get
through to the shortlist. I’m very proud on the team’s behalf that their hard
work has been recognised in this way. We are also appreciative of the supportive
testimonials received from staff and students in support of the nomination.”
The awards dinner will
be held on the 6th of July at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
