SITS

SITS is the student management database that holds all details relating to a student's academic journey throughout their time at Edinburgh Napier.

What information is held in SITS?

SITS holds information about the student themselves such as name, address, date of birth and nationality, programme and module information, as well as all supplementary data that we are required to report to HESA (Higher Education Statistic Agency) on an annual basis.

It is also within SITS that for each student:

  • Applications and decisions on admissions are made and recorded
  • Fees are generated
  • Programme/module enrolments and marks are entered
  • Progression decisions, awards and placements are recorded
  • Visa and passport information is held
  • Student Awards Agency for Scotland and Student Loans Company attendance confirmations are sent.

How do I get access? / How do I change my access permissions?

Staff who require new access to SITS, or need to change their access permissions, need to complete a User Access Form. There are different forms depending on your role.

You will need to download and complete the relevant form below and return it electronically as a -DOC or DOCX- file to sas@napier.ac.uk. Please note, we cannot accept paper forms or forms in PDF format.

If you have any questions about user access, please contact our Student Systems Helpdesk.

How do I request a development or additional functionality to SITS?

If you would like to request a development or additional functionality to SITS or eStudent Records/e:Vision, you can log an entry on our Service Requests page. We will review the request and contact you to discuss feasibility and timescales.
