Higher Education and Technician's Educational Development (HEaTED) is a national STEM organisation for technical development and recognition, and is the UK's leading provider of professional development and networking opportunities for all disciplines of the technical workforce.
The HEaTED regional network provides a forum for discussion and communication between technicians, technical managers and staff developers. It promotes training events, the sharing of knowledge, skills and best practice amongst technical staff and increased awareness of the opportunities and facilities provided by HEaTED and member institutions.
Napier joined HEaTED last year and all technicians can register for free membership at https://www.stem.org.uk/heated.
The School of Applied Sciences technical team are hosting a HEaTED network event on 29 May at Sighthill, themed around technical development, and welcome as many of our colleagues as possible to join us along with technicians from other Scottish universities, including Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Heriot-Watt.

- identify and develop an action plan for personal/team CPD needs
- make productive connections through networking in the region
- share ideas and seize opportunities to develop technical services
- discover training and development events for the technical workforce
