By signalling a LGBT+ presence on campus, we can maintain a comfortable and fully inclusive environment in which everyone can reach their full potential without fear of discrimination.

Edinburgh Napier’s LGBT+ Staff Network provides a forum for networking, social interaction and a means of peer support for the LGBT+ community across the University. We also have a diverse range of LGBT+ Role Models who provide support within the community, enabling people to connect, as well as to influence others in challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying.

Our Role Models celebrate difference and encourage colleagues to join and shout about our diverse University culture, creating a positive shared environment, which encourages both personal and professional development.

They’re active members of our LGBT+ Network, with LGBT+ lived experience and have either completed or are committed to a personal development programme exploring what it means to be a Role Model.

An inclusive environment is of benefit to all and our Role Models put this at the centre of what they do, striving to make our workplace supportive, inclusive and with a visible, lively LGBT+ community at its heart.
