There are limited places available for the Interviewing Skills workshop being held at Sighthill on Tuesday, 3 October.
The aim of this full day workshop is to improve your understanding of the structure of, and be able conduct, interviews aligned to Edinburgh Napier’s hiring guidelines. This will help make sure we identify qualified candidates and make effective hiring decisions.
The workshop is specifically designed for managers who are currently, or will be, involved in recruitment and selection of staff.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Describe ENU's hiring guidelines, and where to find the relevant hiring documentation
- Explain the importance of using ENU's hiring guidelines in structuring and conducting interviews
- Discuss the use of technical and behavioural competences in candidate selection
- Practice the skills of effective interviewing (technical and behavioural)
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Build awareness around the ENU interview process and its guidelines
- Identify the ENU tools required to prepare, conduct and follow up on interviews
- Give feedback to peers during mock interview exercises based on ENU interview guidelines
- Receive feedback on own interview effectiveness
- Increase confidence in making effective hiring decisions
