Title
Stress control self-help course offered by NHS Lothian

Description

Stress Control is a free six week, cognitive behavioural therapy based self-help course offered by NHS Lothian. It is aimed primarily at people experiencing difficulties in managing stress, also referred to as anxiety or mixed anxiety and depression.

The course consists of six 1½ hour lecture format presentations and aims to provide attendees with the practical skills they need to understand the psychological aspects of stress and learn how to cope better with stress in their lives.

There are six classes, each week focusing on a different aspect of stress and how it affects people. This is not a therapy group – instead material is taught by NHS Lothian staff using lecture-style presentations, so attendees will not be asked to speak in front of a group.

You don’t have to be stressed to benefit – the course can help you to avoid stress from building up in future.

When: Tuesday, 5 November to Tuesday, 10 December, 6.30pm - 8.00pm
Where: Currie Community High School, 31 Dolphin Avenue, Currie, EH14 5RT
Cost: Free
