The Research Excellence Framework team would like to invite all colleagues to complete an open survey on REF 2021 preparation.

In March 2021 the University submitted its response to REF 2021, the UK-wide research assessment. The submission covered research activity at the University between 2014-2021. Colleagues across the University will be familiar with the REF, or will have contributed to the significant workload within this period.

In the interests of improving internal processes for future assessment periods, the REF Team in the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Office is keen to hear from staff on their experiences of preparing for the REF 2021 submission. An all-staff survey will begin this process.

This aim of this survey is to invite open feedback on University preparation processes for REF2021.  Responses will inform changes and improvements to processes in future.

The survey is optional and is open to all staff members. While it will be more relevant for those directly involved in REF preparation, feedback from other parts of the University is welcome. Further information can be found on the first page of the survey, which you may read before you decide to complete.
