As you will have heard through Project VISION, we are committed to ensuring our teaching and learning spaces meet the changing needs of our stakeholders, particularly our students and our academics.

To inform our planning we are reviewing the use of our current estate. This will allow us to understand how often our current spaces are occupied and the number of people who use them.  

Through analysis of the data gathered, we can consider where we need to increase or amend the types of spaces that can be scheduled through our timetabling processes. It may also give insights into how our timetabling policy and practice can be adapted to better meet our user's needs as our student populations change.

In Trimester 1 we will be conducting a space utilisation exercise, primarily focused on teaching spaces at our Craiglockhart, Merchiston, and Sighthill campuses. To ensure accuracy, a variety of data collection methods will be employed, including physical surveys of these spaces.​
