The University has achieved the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction for an outstanding performance in health and safety over a period of 15 years.
Edinburgh Napier are the first and only UK Higher Education institution to achieve this level of award.
The award is of great benefit to the University, establishing a high benchmark of health and safety management systems, especially for insurance costs and the awarding of external contracts to the Edinburgh napier.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
The majority of awards mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, President’s Awards and Orders of Distinction are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
The University were awarded the Order of Distinction after receiving 15 consecutive gold medals.
