The Saltire Scholar Internship Programme prepares university students in their penultimate year of study for working life by undertaking commercially valuable projects in Scotland and across the globe…
And this year eight Edinburgh Napier students have secured internships around the world!
The programme matches high-potential undergraduates from Scottish universities with leading global and entrepreneurial companies, charities, social enterprises, and small and medium sized enterprises. This helps them take the next step in their development by providing them with a global perspective, encouraging an entrepreneurial mind-set, and growing their confidence through professional work experience.
More than 1,100 Scottish students applied to take part, showing the value students see in the programme and the opportunities it provides. 181 were successful, including eight of our own:
The engineering, architectural technology and construction related placements are within the Built Environment Exchange programme led by Robert Hairstans. Funding towards these scholarships has also been supported by the SE Scotland City Region Deal, Edinburgh Napier and industry partners.
Beyond the internship, students are also enrolled on a leadership development programme which includes workshops, invitations to events and connections to Saltire Alumni and international stakeholders.
