The RISE Awards are the highlight of the annual Sustainable Ecological Engineering Design for Society (SEEDS) Conference – and this year’s ceremony saw Edinburgh Napier’s Bernardino D'Amico and Francesco Pomponi take home the Design, Innovation & Creativity award!
The RISE awards celebrate talented companies, groups and individuals who are changing the nature of the built environment industry through extensive research, development and innovation.
Francesco said, “It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience for us, with partners from different parts of Africa who truly helped us understand the local context to produce something valuable. The icing on the cake for me was beating a highly commended entry from the University of Cambridge!”
This year’s SEEDS Conference took place at the University of Suffolk and welcomed delegates from across the world who are experts in their field. The built environment has a greater impact on natural resources and produces more waste than any other industry, and the SEEDS Conference focused on the changes that are taking place and the benefits or consequences that are being predicted and measured regarding the built environment’s impacts.
