Edinburgh Napier took home the winners’ trophies in two categories at last night’s prestigious Scottish Cyber Awards.
 
The University claimed the award for Best Cyber Education Programme for our NCSC-certified undergraduate and GCHQ-certified postgraduate programmes in cybersecurity (above), led by Robert Ludwiniak and Rich Macfarlane.
 
The award for Best Cyber Breakthrough was picked up by Edinburgh Napier and spinout Cyan Forensics (below), which has developed digital forensic technology to combat crime.
 

 
 
To cap a night of outstanding success, the School of Computing’s Basil Manoussos was a finalist for Cyber Evangelist of the Year, The Cyber Academy was shortlisted for Outstanding Cyber Team and former University student Toni Scullion was named Cyber Security Teacher of the Year.
 
The annual awards, held at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Hotel, are a celebration of Scotland’s most dynamic cyber security talent. It attracts more than 300 of the sector’s leaders across business, law enforcement and academia. 
 
Sally Smith, Dean of the School of Computing, said, “It’s excellent to see this level of recognition from the cyber security community in Scotland. Congratulations to all involved!”
