Following
the cancellation of the Researcher Skills Forum on 8 April, speakers offered a
series of webinars. The final webinar takes place this Wednesday:
Playing
the Game – How to get jobs and build your career
Wednesday 6 May, 1pm – 2pm
This panel session will introduce a number of researchers at different stages
in their career, sharing their personal stories and unique experiences throughout
their academic careers. You will have the opportunity to ask questions – if you
would like to submit questions in advance, email e.barry@napier.ac.uk.
Panel Members:
- Laura Muir is an
Associate Professor in the Information Systems Group of the School of
Computing. Laura’s research is focussed on user-centred design of
information systems and services and she has worked with industry in
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and consultancy projects
- Ellis Urquhart is
a Lecturer in Tourism & Airline Management within the Business School.
Ellis’ research focusses on the role of interactive technologies in
Scottish visitor attractions and specifically, how these contribute to a
co-creative visitor experience
- Emma Anderson and
Iona Phillips are Career Development Consultants within the Student
Futures team. Emma supports students and graduates in the School of
Computing and School of Applied Science, and Iona is based in The Business
School. They have both been involved in designing and delivering
employability programmes to prepare students for applying for work
experience and graduate opportunities. They also provide one to one
career guidance appointments to students, graduates and researchers at all
stages
