Full Story

The 2021 National Student Survey results have been published and, while Edinburgh Napier’s overall satisfaction score has fallen slightly in line with that of institutions throughout Scotland and the UK, we still have plenty to celebrate!

Here are just some of our student satisfaction stats:

  • We consolidated our position as the #1 University in Edinburgh
  • We jumped two places to 6th position in the Scottish league table
  • We’re now ranked 21st out of 150 institutions in the UK
  • We’ve climbed four places to second spot in the Modern Universities table

As expected, due to the pandemic there have been large drops in overall satisfaction in both Scottish and UK institutions. In Scotland in 2021 overall satisfaction is 80%, compared with 85% in 2020. In the UK overall satisfaction is 75% compared with 83% last year.

This is reflected in both Edinburgh Napier’s overall score and the individual School scores:

The Business School

School of Arts & Creative Industries

School of Computing

School of Engineering and the Built Envmnt.

School of Applied Sciences

School of Health & Social Care

These are good results in what has been a difficult year and will feed into the next round of league tables where these scores will boost our rankings yet again.

A special shout out to our Information Services team, whose Library and IT functions were rated 1st and 2nd in Scotland respectively, and 5th overall in the UK - no mean feat!
