We are pleased to collaborate with our new Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider, MCL Medics, to provide colleagues with the opportunity to receive the flu vaccine.
Getting flu is unpleasant for most people affecting us all in different ways and it can be life threatening for some people with underlying health conditions. The NHS believe that more people are likely to get the flu this winter as fewer people will have built up natural immunity to it during the COVID-19 pandemic and getting both the flu and COVID at the same time could make people very ill.
The best time to have the flu vaccine is in the autumn or early winter before flu starts to spread, that's why our flu vaccine clinics will be set up across all campuses this October:
Sighthill: Tuesday 4 October
Merchiston: Wednesday 5 October
Craiglockhart: Thursday 6 October
The flu vaccination is safe and effective, and it’s offered every year to help protect people at risk of getting seriously ill from the flu. Please note that if you'd prefer and are eligible for the free vaccine on the NHS , you can book you flu vaccine through your GP or go to a pharmacy that offers the vaccine on the NHS.

Please note that for the efficient running of the clinic, you must complete the Influenza Pre-Vaccine Questionnaire prior to the appointment, print and present it to the nurse at your scheduled time.
