Title
Four Cities. One night. 12,000 people under the stars

Summary
Sleep in the Park and help tackle homelessness in Scotland – here’s the special code for University staff and students to waive the sign-up donation.

Full Story

Sleep in the Park is an annual mass participation sleep out to tackle homelessness in Scotland and end it for good. This year the event is taking place in four cities on one night - Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen on Saturday, 8 December.

Last year 8,000 people joined the world’s largest sleep out in Princes Street Gardens to raise £4m and call for an end to homelessness in Scotland. This has caused a sea change in the fight against homelessness and funded a raft of major projects, as well as creating the political mandate to do so.

This year’s Edinburgh event is also taking place in Princes Street Gardens, and some amazing people have been invited to support the mission. Scottish superstars Amy Macdonald and KT Tunstall will play stripped back sets in all four cities while iconic writer Irvine Welsh will be reading a bedtime story. A host of amazing performers will also be playing in each city, including Lulu, Frightened Rabbit, Kyle Falconer, Eddi Reader and many more.

At 11pm, the lights will go out and all 12,000 people across four cities will bed down on a cold Scottish Winter’s night under the stars. The money raised will help bring over 800 people out of homelessness across Scotland.

How you can waive your registration fee
Normally you would have to pay £50 registration free to participate, but Social Bite has received a donation of £100,000 to pre-pay for 2,000 places for students across the four cities.

To redeem your free ticket, all you have to do is click here, choose your city, then type this code into the referral box: SITPNAPIER

You can also sign up as a team of friends using the referral code.

Whilst your ticket it free and you don't have to pay the registration fee, you’ll need to commit to raising a minimum of £50 in fundraising to get your ticket. We encourage you to raise as much as you can to help homeless people throughout Scotland.
