Edinburgh Napier’s Business School welcomed around 200 attendees this week for an afternoon of interactive workshops to equip everyone with the digital and soft skills they need to compete in today’s workplace. Organised by Dr Simone Kurtzke of the Marketing Group, the events were part of a wider Facebook initiative to help people be successful in ‘industry 4.0’.
The workshops were delivered by ‘Technology Coaching’, who have partnered with Facebook to produce the leading-edge training. The sessions aim to support students in developing core skills, encouraging innovation, leadership, collaboration and teamwork.
The busy event saw students from across the Business School learn how to come up with their next big idea, how to market on social media and websites, and how to stay safe online, gaining an official Facebook Certification at the end.
Lina Poka, Technology Coaching Trainer, said, “I really enjoyed working with a mixture of students who have shown great interest in how to use digital and soft skills to enhance their career prospects. I’m impressed at the level of enthusiasm and engagement, and the new ideas that students have put forward in the workshops.”
