Tayo moved to Edinburgh in 2010 to study towards Masters and PhD qualifications in the Biological Sciences. On completion of his research, he worked in student learning and research support roles including as student engagement lead for the Biomolecular Suite of programmes within the School of Applied Sciences. He currently takes the lead as Academic Skills Manager, Academic Skills contact​ for the Social Science programmes and contributes to the development of critical writing curriculum for some postgraduate programmes in the Schools of Health and Social Care and the Applied Sciences.

Tayo also has over four years of experience working in the medical and pharmaceuticals industries. Additionally, he has over a decade of experience as a customer service analyst in the banking industry. While he is currently interested in student engagement strategies and equality in learning, he is open to research collaborations with and in other disciplines.
