FH1: I have an issue with my heating, who do I contact?

During the times when the heating systems are running, the recommended comfort zone across Edinburgh Napier University sites is between 16-23oC.  Only if the temperature falls below or rises above these temperatures should you contact Facilities Service Desk on ext: 5000 or email: FacilitiesServicedesk@napier.ac.uk.

Before phoning Facilities Service Desk, can you please assist us by having the answers to the following questions ready:-

1.  Do you have a thermometer in your room, and if so, what is the temperature reading?

2. Do you have a valve on the radiator and if so, is it turned to the maximum?

3.  Are there any windows open or are you feeling any draughts from the window?

4.  Do you have any supplementary heating in the room?

5.  Has this heating issue only arisen today?

6.  At what time, do you feel there is a lack of heat in the area?

CT4​: Who do I contact in the event the vending machine is not working?

During office hours: Please report to your nearest catering outlet. Out of office hours: Please dial telephone number displayed on side of vending machine.

 

CL1: Who do I contact if there is a spillage?

For small amounts, contact Cleaning supervisor, please refer to Cleaning Contact Us​. For large amounts, contact Facilities Service Desk on ext: 5000 or email: FacilitiesServicedesk@napier.ac.uk

 

CL4: Where are the toilet facilities?

There are Male, Female, One for All toilets and baby changing facilities on each main campus.  For further information, please contact Facilities Service Desk on ext: 5000 or email: FacilitiesServicedesk@napier.ac.uk

CF2: How do I book car parking for an event?

Visitor Car Parking bookings should be requested via Resource Booker​.  If you need to make a booking for today, please complete the On the Day Visitors Parking form and email: car.parking@napier.ac.uk.  For larger events, please email: car.parking@napier.ac.uk.


CF3: Will I get support on the day of my event/meeting?​

All events are different and require different levels of support.  The Catering & Events team will help you through the planning process and ensure you know what support is available before and during your event, please email: conferences@napier.ac.uk.

 

CF4: How will I know that my IT arrangements are in place?

The Catering & Events team will discuss your AV requirements with you in advance of your event and ensure that the correct equipment and support is provided.  Staff can contact Information Services directly to make arrangements on ext: 3000 or email: ISServiceDesk@napier.ac.uk​​.

 

DP1: How do I report a multi-functional device fault?

To report a fault, please contact your super users in the first instance (contacts displayed on wall beside MFD).  If an engineer is required, please contact Information Services by email: ISServiceDesk@napier.ac.uk​

 

DP2: How do I order paper?

Monday - Friday: 7.30am - 10pm
Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 6pm

 

EN5: Is ENGAGE sports centre closed on public holidays?

Is open all year around except during Unversity Christmas holidays.

 

EN6: How can I hire space for a sports event?

EN8: If I do not have a parking permit, can I park my car to attend ENGAGE sports centre?

Please note that the car park is restricted to permit holders only between 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.  Parking is free outwith these times.

ES2: How does the University perform against other Universities?

We've retained our First Class award through the 2013 People & Planet Green League assessment. For more information on what this means, visit the People & Planet​ website. Green League is the only assessment of all UK universities. The League Table highlights good practice throughout the UK.

 

ES3: Where are the recycling areas?

There are a mix of paper, plastic bottle, tin can and food waste recycle bins located in staff tea prep areas, refectory and LRC.

Craiglockhart, Merchiston & Sighthill: Delivered to departmental mailboxes and collected from speed boxes approximately 10.15 and 14.15 daily

Do not touch the item or attempt to take it out of the building.  Contact Security Control on Ext: 4444.

Visitor Car Parking bookings should be requested via Resource Booker​ by a member of staff (organiser).  If you need to make a booking for today, please complete the On the Day Visitors Parking form and​ ​email: car.parking@napier.ac.uk
