Corporate Social Responsibility
We completed the Environment Index of Universities That Count (UTC) in 2009. The review quickly followed the development of our first Carbon Management Plan and allowed us to assess our environmental impact using a wider set of criteria.
In 2010 we completed the Environmental and Social Responsibility (ESR) Index of UTC. This first stab at an ESR survey was very successful. Information from 50 members of academic and professional services staff was pulled together to provide us with our first ESR report.
UTC has been superseded by Learning in Future Environments (LiFE) developed by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC). We are currently prioritising the development of our Environmental Management System at the University but we are keen to work through LiFE in the near future.
The University has signed the Scottish Business Pledge. The Pledge is a values led partnership between Government and business and includes workforce engagement, investment in training, prompt payment, ensuring a focus on diversity and gender balance and also paying the living wage to all employees.
