Travel guidance during Covid-19
If you need to travel to the University, please plan ahead. Visit Transport Scotland for the latest Scottish Government advice and up-to-date guidance on public transport and active travel.
However you travel, please ensure you are very clear of the facilities available and rules in place before you start your journey.
Although we encourage staff to use sustainable travel to get to campus, we also offer a limited number of car parking permits to staff.
All parking permits are issued by the Car Parking Administration Team. You can contact them on 0131 455 6119 or by emailing email@example.com
If you require a car parking permit you must complete an application form, which you can find on the security pages of the staff intranet. All permits are issued on a priority basis and you can find further information in the guidelines within the application form.
Please note that parking spaces on any campus cannot be guaranteed on a day-to-day basis, even where a permit has been granted.
All campus car parks are for permit holders only between 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. You can park for free outwith these times and at the weekend.
If staff invite visitors to the University, they must ensure they have booked a guest car parking space or the visitor will be issued with a penalty charge notice. Please see the staff car parking pages of the intranet for more information.
Parking outwith the University
If you choose to park on-street, you must pay the appropriate fee or you will receive a penalty charge. You will be responsible for paying this and the University will not consider any claims for car parking penalty charges by the council’s parking attendants.
If you park in our surrounding communities, please try to be considerate by making sure you aren’t using car parks designed for shop customers, blocking entrances or exits, parking on pavements or obstructing residents’ driveways. Help us be a good neighbour to the people we share our community with and take extra care when deciding where to leave your car.
The University is a corporate member of the Enterprise Car Club. As a result, both staff and students over 21 years of age can obtain a year’s free personal membership.
To claim your first year’s free personal membership, get your promotional code by contacting us before completing the enrolment form with Enterprise Car Club.
