Cycling and Walking
The City of Edinburgh Council have created walking and cycling maps covering the entire city. iQ is covered by the North map. SPOKES also produce excellent maps highlighting all off road routes, and a great deal more information, throughout Edinburgh. The University has a number of maps to give away to staff and students (thanks to a grant from SEStran). Contact Jamie Pearson if you would like one. The CycleStreets website can also help you plan your journey by bicycle or foot, with an option to find quieter routes.

Bus, Tram and Train
Use the Traveline Scotland website to help you plan your journey. Use the My Bus Tracker service (search for EH11 1AB) to view the next Lothian Buses services around the accommodation site. iQ is 0.6 miles from the closest Edinburgh Trams stop at Haymarket Train Station. Smart phone applications are available for real time bus and tram information, search for 'Edinburgh Travel' through your app store provider. Please not that Lothian Buses, except for the Lothian Buses 100 service do not provide change. All travel, except for Lothian Buses 100, charged at £1.50 for a single, £4.00 for a day ticket. Monthly direct debit options are available.
Haymarket Train Station is 0.6 miles from the site. Waverley Train Station, 1.9 miles. There's no direct bus link to Haymarket, but the Lothian Buses 34 service connects Waverley to iQ. Use Traveline Scotland to plan your journey.
City Car Club and Private Vehicles
The University is a member of the City Car Club. The Club has 150 vehicles within the city. Charged per hour and per mile, use of a City Car Club vehicle is perfect for short-term use. For a discount membership code, contact Jamie Pearson, Environmental Sustainability Manager.
There's no parking available at iQ, other than for blue badge holders. Residents are encouraged not to take a private vehicle to Edinburgh. Public transport links are great and the accommodation site is within easy reach of the city centre. The Lothian Buses 35 service connects iQ directly to Edinburgh Airport. The service covers an extensive route, so can take one hour. iQ is 0.6 miles from Haymarket where the Lothian Buses 100 service and Edinburgh Trams service both stop (journeys are shorter but would incur walking to/from Bainfield for part of the journey).
