Screen Academy Travel Options

Interest free loans are available for staff to buy annual rail and annual First Bus passes. Lothian Buses monthly direct debit is the cheapest option for their services. Contact Jamie Pearson for more information.

Cycling and Walking
The City of Edinburgh Council have created cycling and walking maps covering the entire city. The Screen Academy is covered by the South map. SPOKES also produce excellent maps highlighting all off road routes, and a great deal more information throughout Edinburgh. The University has a number of maps to give away to staff and students (thanks to a grant from SEStran). Contact Jamie Pearson if you would like one. The CycleStreets website can also help you plan your journey by bicycle or foot, with an option to find quieter routes.
There's no bicycle storage at the Screen Academy unfortunately. But, there are 100 bicycle spaces 0.1 miles away at our Merchiston campus. 48 within covered and secure areas and 52 uncovered. Shower and locker facilities for all cyclists, joggers and walkers are available. Collect keys from reception within the main campus building. There is CCTV throughout the site.
Bus, Tram and Train
Use the Traveline Scotland website to help you plan your journey. Use the My Bus Tracker service (search for EH10 4NU) to view the next Lothian Buses services around the campus. The Screen Academy is 1.2 miles from the closest Edinburgh Trams stop at Haymarket Train Station, integrated bus and tram options are available throughout the city (use the Traveline Scotland website). Smart phone applications are also available, search for 'Edinburgh Travel' through your app store provider. Please note that Lothian Buses, except for the Lothian Buses 100 service do not provide change. All travel, except for Lothian Buses 100, charged at £1.50 for a single, £4.00 for a day ticket. Monthly direct debit options are available.
Haymarket Train Station is 1.2 miles from The Screen Academy, Waverley Train Station is 1.9 miles. There is no direct public transport link between The Screen Academy and Haymarket Train Station. The Lothian Buses 10, Lothian Buses 11, Lothian Buses 15, Lothian Buses 16 and Lothian Buses 23 services link directly to Waverley Train Station. City Car Club and Private Vehicles
The University is a member of the City Car Club. The Club has 150 vehicles within the city. Charged per hour and per mile, use of a City Car Club vehicle is perfect for short-term use. For a discount membership code (for both business and personal use), contact Jamie Pearson, Environmental Sustainability Manager.
You must have a permit to park your car at any Edinburgh Napier campus. All information relating to parking permits, including cost and exemptions can be found within the Parking Policy on the Security Team intranet pages. Visitors must be pre-booked (there are visitors spaces all campuses except for Merchiston). There are no public transport services directly joining Edinburgh Airport to The Screen Academy. But, integrated options are available. For instance, the Lothian Buses 10, Lothian Buses 11, Lothian Buses 15 and Lothian Buses 16 services link to the West End of Princes Street at Shandwick Place.
