Visas & Immigration Guidance 

For guidance on how to comply with UKVI legislation, and the University’s practices in relation to the recruitment and employment of employees with limited leave to remain and work in the UK please visit the visas & immigration page. 


Your Talent & Recruitment Consultant will conduct reference checks for the appointable candidate. They will secure two references for an external candidate or one reference for an internal candidate

Right to work 

Once the offer has been made your consultant will carry out the right to work checks with the candidate. Please note that your consultant will only carry out Right to Work checks for a candidate who has been through a permanent or fixed term recruitment process. It is a legal requirement that the right to work check is completed before an individual start date and applies to all workers including casuals, part-time demonstrators, zero hour lecturer, fixed term or permanent employees.

Your consultant will also check and take a copy of all professional and/or educational qualification relevant for the role. 

Once all the correct paperwork has been collected and checked by your Talent & Recruitment Consultant, they will issue the candidate with an offer letter and contract.
