What is My Contribution?
It is essential that the University supports all employees in their individual and varied roles and responsibilities. My Contribution is our tool to enable reviewers and reviewees to agree, track and measure their annual objectives, personal development and continuous professional development. All employees will have SMART(Specific, Measurable, Agreed/ Achievable, Realistic and Timely) objectives, relevant to their role and support of our Strategy 2020 ambitions.
It will help to facilitate discussions about development goals and career aspirations which will help to ensure that people are performing at their best and are progressing their career while at Edinburgh Napier. My Contribution has three parts:
My Review – allows you to record objectives linked to Strategy 2020 and gain feedback on your performance and behaviours.
My Development – allows you to record development areas and the actions you would like to take or the support you need to help develop. These will be linked to the University’s values and behaviours.
My Career – allows you to record steps or evidence that you have taken to progress your career. For example: technical training, conferences, qualifications, accreditations, publications. This provides a platform to enable employees to achieve their objectives and grow and develop in their individual role and career.

The My Contribution Wheel illustrates the annual cycle of performance and development discussions. This doesn’t mean that conversations can’t happen throughout the year – indeed we hope they do – but this provides a framework that we can all work to.
