Success for Information Services at Above and Beyond
May 2018
Information Services is delighted to have Laura Ennis working in the Learning and Research Services (LARS) team. This year she received not one, but two awards. Laura, Subject Librarian for the School of Applied Sciences was nominated for an Above and Beyond award in multiple categories and was short-listed in the Innovative category by academics and colleagues from Professional Services. This was for her work on embedded workshops, service delivery, teaching methods, professional development, personalised support for students and for generally being a great colleague.
At the Above and Beyond event to recognise and celebrate outstanding contribution to the University, Laura beat all the competition to be awarded the Innovative Award. Laura is an extremely professional, hard working member of staff and has created inclusive and engaging learning environments within the University. She has developed and implemented a number of projects, including Cryptoparties, The Big Read and Shelf Help. Laura has also worked with Steve Yorkstone to champion the use of Lego as a teaching and team building aid.
Laura was also awarded the 'Do you want fries with that?' award. This award, established in 2017, recognises staff excellence within Information Services and as can be seen, Laura is an extremely worthy recipient.
Well done, Laura!
