SITS is the student management database that holds all details relating to a student's academic journey throughout their time at Edinburgh Napier.


What information is held in SITS?


SITS holds information about the student themselves such as name, address, date of birth and nationality, programme and module information, as well as all supplementary data that we are required to report to HESA (Higher Education Statistic Agency) on an annual basis.

It is also within SITS that for each student: 

  • Applications and decisions on admissions are made and recorded
  • Fees are generated
  • Programme/module enrolments and marks are entered
  • Progression decisions, awards and placements are recorded
  • Visa and passport information is held
  • Student Awards Agency for Scotland and Student Loans Company attendance confirmations are sent.

How do I get access? / How do I change my access permissions?


Staff who require new access to SITS, or need to change their access permissions, need to log a SITS User Access Request in Unidesk.

How do I request a development or additional functionality to SITS?


If you would like to request a development or additional functionality to SITS or eStudent Records/e:Vision, you can log a Work Package Requests in Unidesk .We will review the request and contact you to discuss feasibility and timescales.


SITS Bulletin Board


The SITS Bulletin Board is where important announcements for SITS users are published. The type of announcements published include:

  • System availability
  • Updates and upgrades
  • Impending processing deadlines
  • Changes to procedures
  • Training documents

If you are a user of SITS please sign up for bulletin board alerts on the SharePoint site. This will ensure you don't miss any important information sent by SS&PI.
