EN:Compass - Navigating the Digital World
Add links to EN:Compass from Moodle modules to help students learn more about digital literacy skills.
Feel free to use any of the examples below to add to your Moodle modules.
If you would like to have specific Library help material tailored for your course, contact your subject librarian.
1. I would like my students to use better resources for assessments.
LibrarySearch http://librarysearch.napier.ac.uk makes it easy to search across most of the Edinburgh Napier Library collections – books, ebooks, online journal articles and more. You can also use it to request or renew library items (for example, you can place a request if all the copies of a book are out).
You can find an introduction to Library resources and databases for your subject in subject guides.
For help with getting started, see EN:Compass A Digital World.
2. I would like to see better referencing of academic sources.
It is important to reference the academic sources that you use in your assessments. This means not only giving the sources for books and journals that you have read or quoted from, but using the correct referencing style. See the School Referencing Guidelines.
