Employability in the UK
The complexity of employability and the variety that exists in curricula in UK higher education mean that no single, ideal, prescription for the embedding of employability can be provided.
Embedding employability is undertaken with reference to the curricular context.
In order to introduce the concept of employability I’ll contextualise it by providing some background history of the journey we have been on in the UK, a look at what employability is and how we have attempted to define it and engage staff and students.
And finish with a brief look at current students expectations and perceptions of higher education.
