In the most recent Research Excellence Framework assessment, REF2021, over two-thirds of all our Edinburgh Napier University research was judged to be either 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent', providing the best possible confirmation that Edinburgh Napier delivers excellent research with substantial real impact, nationally and internationally.
Our RIE Department and the support we offer
Our Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) team at Edinburgh Napier supports the full research journey and research planning process – from helping you with finding funding and writing proposals, through to managing your research and communicating your results. In addition, we support research degree students and their supervisors to manage their projects and offer guidance to help you develop your researcher skills to achieve your research goals.
We are also active in business engagement, supporting the development and launch of spin-out businesses from Edinburgh Napier, and use our skills to provide advice, knowledge and expertise to industry, the public and third sectors. We often work in collaboration with a wide range of businesses of different sizes and sectors, helping them to: secure funding; offer CPD; short professional development courses ; consultancy; knowledge exchange; and ultimately use our wide breadth of skills and knowledge to help transfer ideas into reality.
