Researcher Development Framework
The Researcher Development Framework
The Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF) is for you if you are doing a doctorate (PhD), are a member of research staff, pursuing an academic career or thinking about applying the skills developed during your PhD in another career.
What is the RDF?: The framework describes the knowledge, behaviour and attributes of successful researchers
Some ways to use the RDF: To identify your strengths and gaps in development, to prioritise development needs, to monitor your progress
The RDF Planner: As a research student you will have access to the RDF planner: a web-based application which you can use to map your professional development against the RDF. Find out more about the RDF planner here.
You can find an overview of the RDF below, and you can follow the links for more information on each ‘Domain’.
