Changes to National Insurance Contributions
 
Description

​Last year, in the government's 2023 Autumn Statement, an announcement was made to reduce the main rate of National Insurance for employees and the self-employed.


From 6 January 2024 the main rate of employee National Insurance (Class 1 NICS) reduced from 12% to 10%, reducing the amount of National Insurance colleagues pay each month.


The below table shows how this will impact your monthly national insurance contributions (NICs) from your January 2024 pay, onwards:
